Parents in Crisis - How Psychodynamic Reiki Counselling Can Help

 

Due to pressure on the service many families are waiting for long periods of time for counselling. Many have experienced traumatic abuse and domestic violence and by the time they are treated, behavioural and emotional problems have often  become so acute that there is a resulting family breakdown, leading to the associated costs of child foster care (£250 per week) or residential children’s homes (£2,000 per week).

 

There is extensive evidence which supports early intervention and therapy where parents are not

coping and have depression, the

associated affect this has on their

parenting skills and the parent /

child relationship and indeed on the

child’s mental health and

development.

 

The Reiki Research Foundation works

 hand in hand with other caring

professionals to deliver a client focused service, (either 1:1 or groups) in order for parents to feel supported and more able to cope.

 

In many cases, where the parents are happy, children manage better.
